Android vs. IPhone

Via mobile-facts.com I found this nice Mac/PC-style comic about Android and IPhone:

LaCie - File Server at Home

For Christmas I treated Petra and myself with a LaCie 2big Network (2-disk RAID) drive. The good thing is that it has in fact 2 hard-drives, which may be operated in Raid 1 mode. That way we now have 500 GB of redundant memory.

On the other hand there are some firmware improvements I’d like to see:

  1. Power-save (silent!) mode. After some idle time-out, the drives should be able to be shut down.
  2. Wake on LAN. The drive already comes with an “auto” switch, which lets you remotely shut it down. This switch could also be used for power on.

LaCie - pls. think about it!

(Hat tip to Raible, for blogging about this.)

Update: (13/Mar/08) As Victor pointed out Matt didn’t bought that drive. However, I’m still happy with mine.

Defect Battery + Dell Customer Support

My Dell Latutude D620 My laptop is just about 6 months old, and every time I start it up, I get a message that the battery is at is end-of-life. After 6 months???

I called Dell the other day, and I have to say that it was a pleasant experience. It took only about 5 minutes explaining what the problem was, and they agreed to send me a new battery.

Btw: After a little bit of googling and reading forums it seems to me, that working with your laptop while being connected to the power supply does damage the battery. So, from now on I will remove the battery from the laptop, when I work at home. :-)

Mac/PC Home Movie

Yes, I’m a PC user, but this is still funny: Mac/PC Home Movie.

Sidenote: Why does embedding the video not work with my Wordpress installation? Apparently it works for Robert

Update: Now its working (read how):
