Servlets History Lesson

I always thought Apache JServ was the predecessor of Tomcat, and I bragged every once in a while about myself using Tomcat before it even was invented.
Today I stumbled across this post which told me, that Tomcat is in fact based on Sun’s Java Web Server and that JServ was ditched by Apache in favour of the Sun’s code base.

I used the Sun’s Java Web Server
It was a project for Daimler in Stuttgart regarding the switch from Deutsche Mark to Euro
